UN hailed India for Pinpoint accuracy and saving million lives

The UN agency for disaster reduction has Praised India Meteorological Department's almost pinpoint accuracy" of Cyclone Fani's early warnings that helped authorities conduct a well-targeted evacuation plan and minimise loss of life. More than 10 lakh people were evacuated ahead of the cyclone, which landfalled at 8:30 am in Odisha's Puri on Friday. Reportedly, eight people have lost their lives in the cyclone.
